Here’s my plan on how I will “Elon Musk” the advancement of environmental technology.

Once I purchase the plant, I will button it up so that hardly a molecule of pollution escapes (which is difficult but entirely possible). I will then refuse to submit any kind of environmental report or comply with almost any of the paperwork requirements which are now 90% of environmental protection. If EPA tried to enforce which they probably would never do because it would be embarrassing, it will be the regulatory system on trial. The jury would then be asked if they preferred living next to my chemical plant using fenceline open-path FTIR, artificial intelligence, drones, OGI, and other technologies with interfaces the public could access and see for themselves on the internet… or if they preferred people walking around a facility once every 3 months waving around 40 year technology “sniffing” for pollution, doing exercises like AVO inspections and visible opacity tests, and sending around hundreds of pages of paperwork and recordkeeping to each other that the public cannot really access let alone understand.
