Jed’s Answer to Musk’s Question

Why is the following relevant?

---People will tell me, what does God and love have to do with what you are doing Jed? Why do you keep connecting God and love into communications about artificial intelligence, quantum physics, and industrial emissions reductions projects?

Why would we not invoke the most powerful forces in the universe into everything we do?

I find the following question and answer to Elon Musk fascinating. It’s worth watching several times just to watch his body and eye movements as he carefully thinks through the question.

Stay open-minded as you watch this. Musk is keying on Nick Bostrom’s work at Oxford University. Even if what Musk believes later proves true, I don’t find it scary at all. Unlike Musk, I know the answer.

• Interviewer: When maybe you or somebody else creates an AGI [Artificial General Intelligence] system and you get to ask her one question, what would that question be?

• Musk: … what’s outside the simulation?

---- “God. I know this answer however by faith and not by sight. I agree there is at least a possibility this is a “simulation”. Doesn’t bother me if it proves true. Simulations aren’t run in automata where all answers and variables are known. Curiously its even supportive of the notion of free-will. A spiritual training program for eternal beings? How cool would that be to learn? Makes you want to focus even more on becoming Christ-like and expanding your love and relationship with God and other eternal beings down here.
