EPA’s response to the President on Maintaining American Leadership in Artificial Intelligence:

1. “EPA has no explicit statutory authority to issue regulations on the development and use of AI applications.” […]
2. “EPA has no approved or requested information collections related to the design, development, deployment, and operation of AI applications in the private sector.” […]
3. “EPA has not identified any AI applications for use outside of the Federal government that are within EPA’s regulatory authority.” […]
